[left]Do you know that one of the most powerful tools you have at your disposal is your use of language?
When you talk to someone and express your ideas and thoughts that's when your world begins to change. The more you become aware of the power of language, the more you realise what assumptions you make.
When you say something as though it is a fact it may actually be your opinion based on your own experience about something or somebody rather than on provable fact. Notice what you and others say about a situation or a person and then imagine stepping back and ask 'how do I know that to be true?'
Whether or not something is actually true, it seems become so when it is spoken.
Whether what you say is true or not just saying something can alter a situation.
Depending on whether you say 'I'm ready' or 'No, I don't want to do it,' you will have created a different world.
If something about which you bear a grudge, is bothering you, even though it happened ages ago then think about what did or didn't happen and ask yourself, 'What did I learn from what happened?'
What will you do differently next time? Since turning the clock back is not possible, you could instead decide it's time to change the mind-set you were in.
Remove blame from either what you or they did or said.
Let the picture in your mind of what happened fade from colour to black and white, from large to small, from loud to silent.
Sometimes you have to release resentment, let go of anger and be willing to move on. When you decide to do this then new possibilities become more likely, if you are ready and open to them.
Don't let past resentments prevent you being in the right frame of mind now.
Develop a way of looking at past events with some lightness. Find a way to tell the story about what happened so that it seems funny. Try retelling the events in a positive way. That won't deny what happened, however it helps you to move on and place the event into your past personal biography rather than in the present and you will be better able to look forward with new excitement.
As you tell your story to someone who understands where you are coming from, and demonstrates empathy, you are experiencing limbic resonance, that quite primitive, unconscious connection made between two people, 'in tune' with each other. Whatever it is, it happens and when it does magic happens.
