| موضوع: Take a Step Back and Look at the Big Picture الإثنين فبراير 24, 2014 10:40 am | |
| by JessicaThere are some organizations that approach me for fundraising and they have no idea what they want to fundraise for. That is a red flag for me. A red flag in the sense that it usually means there is something bigger or deeper organizationally that needs to be addressed. These non profits need help and guidance in determining what that bigger or deeper organizational need is. If you are currently in this place with your organization, or know of an organization that is going through this currently, here is the step I take with clients when trying to get to the heart of the matter.
We usually take a step…a big step back to look at the big picture, and we ask the following questions:
1. What is your mission, is it clear and compelling?
2. What is the goal you are after?
3. What impact do you want to see?
4. Are you programs successfully leading you towards creating lasting impact?
If the answers are unclear to any of the above questions then you are absolutely going to be dealing with a funding issue. You must realize that not having enough money for your organization is the symptom. You cannot just address the symptoms if you want to be successful. You MUST address the cause. When you take the step back and you see weaknesses in the mission and goals, or are unclear about your impact or whether your programs really serve the community…then these are the causes for your fundraising failures. You must get to the root of the problem and address the cause!
Now I want to hear from you, are you trying to apply a “band-aid” to a problem in your organization that really requires surgery? OR have you properly addressed the cause of your fundraising failures? Let me know by leaving a comment below. ْ
