After watching this years Academy Awards, it became truly evident that if you want something, you have to take the steps to go after it. If you wait for it to come to you chances are it will never happen.
In Hollywood, those who go after their dreams often find a way to make them come true. But only after they truly work for it. But I have seen way too many people out here spending too much time daydreaming and not enough time doing. If you call yourself a writer, how much have you written? Are you writing every day? If you're an actor, are you constantly trying to improve your craft? Effort is the only way to move forward in the entertainment business. So, if you're chasing your dreams, stop chasing them and start working towards them.
It doesn't matter if you dream of being an actor, writer, director, make up artist or whatever. The path for each career might be very different, but the effort is the same. It takes hard work, dedication, and an absolute belief that no matter what, you will achieve your goals.
Remember, there is no such thing as an "overnight success." Some people might seem to become famous "overnight," but you probably didn't see the months and months or even years of hard work leading up to their shining moment. Even if you have a last name of Coppola or Reitman, you will quickly learn that your own success is dependent solely upon how much you dedicate yourself to your craft whatever craft that might be.
It's passion, patience and persistence, that are the three virtues that will get you where you want to go.
